I recently traveled to Europe in the offseason. Priority number one for me after arrival was to hitting up the tour kiosks.

By way of Fuengirola, Spain; I laid eyes on Michelle Obama’s garden in Rhonda. Grabbed a monkey pic in Gibraltar. Posted flowery streets of Marbella to my Insta story.

Seville, Spain and Lisbon, Portugal gave me higher perspective and shelter from the rain via ‘Hop on and off’ bus tours.

A ‘Hop on and off tour’ provided me shelter during a rainy visit to Lisbon, Portugal.

Tipsy houses were a sight to be seen on a boat tour in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

I had opted to stay for 20 days in Trieste, Italy breaking up the time with visits to Bologna and Venice. It was in Trieste got up the courage to do an Airbnb.com experience. I choose a scenic view hike.

*side note: I love hiking. But, in a unknown land, alone. Nah…I watch way to many horror movies.

My hiking guide Michele enriched me with a glimpses of Trieste beautiful landscape. We weaved through grape vines for a view of a shore. Stepped up in a tower for a parno view of the sea. Learned the local way to tell if a farm was open for business. Proceeded to have scrumptious lunch at said farm. That day placed rank on my list of prize days.

Traveling to Athens, Greece another perspective was given thanks to Airbnb.com experiences. ‘Culture walk, the bohemian side of Athens’ boosted the experience. They told no lies. It was amazing. I walked down streets I wouldn’t of even considered being a solo traveler. That walk had many moments. Unassuming doors that lead to bars. Street art in company of Berlin. Side streets of theatrical beauty. I pinched myself many time to during that stroll for a reality check.

Hence, why I give a big high five to Airbnb.com! Its nice to have options. You can find a dance class, a yoga class, pottery, runs, all kinds of things to tickle your fancy.

Upon returning to the USA I kept up with the fun of Airbnb.com experiences. Fish tossing in Seattle. A ‘I Ching’ reading in Cape Cod. The intention is to pick an experience each place I travel.

Thanks Airbnb.com. You just made travelling a lot more fun.
